Prof. Jonathan Baell was invited to join the editorial board of APJBG

On Dec.13th, 2017, Prof. Jonathan Baell of Monash University, Australia was invited to visit the Editorial Office of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Blood Types and Genes (APJBG) , where general manager Chen Yuping was delighted to meet with him.

Prof. Jonathan Baell is a full professor who has done valuable work for the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, Monash University, is a principal research fellow of the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council, and is also the director of the Australian Translational Medicinal Chemistry Facility. His research mainly focuses on the discovery of new medicines for treating diseases with as yet unmet medical needs. He has undertaken original research with a commanding 117 publications and patents to his name; with no doubt many more to come. He has been appointed as Senior Editor for Future Medicinal Chemistry since 2013, and an Editorial Advisory Board Member for the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry since 2014, and for Biology and Current Medicinal Chemistry since 2016.

The editorial office gave him a brief introduction of the APJBG, including the aim and scope of APJBG, the processes of the establishment, the editorial board members, the editorial process, the APJBG’s webpage and our future endeavors. Prof. Jonathan Baell was then cordially invited to join the APJBGs’ editorial board. It is our hope that Prof. Jonathan Baell will enter into continued communication with the editorial office, to help us maintain standards by checking contribution sources, contributions' quality, future development and any other aspects which will help us towards our ambitious goals.

Prof. Jonathan Baell thanked us for his warm reception, and sincerely expressed his appreciation of both our vision and courage in establishing this ambitious and professional blood transfusion journal, and accepted forth with our invitation to become a member of the APJBG’s editorial board.
